IGOR GRABUZOV

 

 

Igor was born in Leningrad, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia). He graduated from the St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy. Igor’s breakthrough screen role came with the feature film THREE DAYS UNTIL SPRING, in which he played one of the leading roles. He later received significant critical acclaim for his portrayal of the gifted composer Alexey, who lives with cerebral palsy, in DANGEROUS DANCES. A frequent collaborator of writer/director Kirill Sokolov, Igor has appeared in all of Sokolov’s feature films to date, including the internationally acclaimed WHY DON’T YOU JUST DIE! and NO LOOKING BACK. Sokolov has often referred to Igor as his “mascot”. Internationally, Igor portrayed the principal antagonist in Tetris, directed by Jon S. Baird for Apple Studios and released on Apple TV+. This was followed by a second collaboration with Baird on the ITV miniseries Stonehouse. Recent television credits include REFORMATION AND PUNISHMENT, 1703 and MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. Upcoming projects include THE ULTIMATE PLANET, BATTLE OF ENGINES and THE WIZARD OF THE EMERALD CITY. Alongside his screen work, Igor is an established theatre actor. His stage credits include UNCLE VANYA by Anton Chekhov, FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON, BILLY MILLIGAN and IRAN CONFERENCE by Ivan Vyrypaev, for which he received a nomination for Russia’s prestigious national theatre award, the Golden Mask Awards.
