KAROLINA GRUSZKA
Karolina Gruszka is a Polish theatre and film actor. She was born in Warsaw, and since performing in her first role at the age of 14, she has appeared in more than 50 film and television projects. A graduate of the Alexandr Zelverovich Theatre Academy, she has been nominated on four occasions for the Polish Film “Eagle” Awards. Karolina has worked with acclaimed directors such as: David Lynch; Filip Bajon; Jan Jakub Kolski; Aleksandr Proshkin; Ivan Vyrypaev; Aleksiey Popogrebskiy; Giacomo Battiato; and Ragnar Bragason. Some of her most notable performances include: David Lynch’s INLAND EMPIRE; playing the titular role in the biopic movie MARIE CURIE by Marie Noëlle; the film LOVERS FROM MARONA by Izabela Cywińska, for which she won the best leading actress award at the 30th Polish film festival in Gdynia; the role of ‘Masha Mironova’ in THE CAPTAIN’S DAUGHTER which was directed by Aleksandr Proshkin; ‘Teresa Banas’ in the comedy feature TOO OLD FOR FAIRYTALES; ‘Anna’ in the crime series NIEOBECNI; and ‘Lena’ in the upcoming feature ŚWIĘTO OGNIA by Kinga Dębska. From 2003 onwards, Karolina has been an actor at the Warsaw National Theatre. In 2016, together with her husband Ivan Vyrypaev she set up a foundation called ”Weda Project” which runs charity artistic projects & performances, as well as a school for theatre directors and playwrights.
