MARKETTA TIKKANEN
Marketta hails from Finland where she graduated as an actor with a Master of Arts from Tampere University in 2019. She has worked extensively in film and television, with some of her notable roles including: DECEPTION from Fire Monkey, which was directed by Mikko Kuparinen; the second season of the drama HELSINKI SYNDROME directed by Juuso Syrjä and Marko Mäkilaakso; and POHJOLAN LAKI Seasons 1 and 2, directed by Samuli Valkama and Teppo Airaksinen. In 2022, Marketta did her first Swedish speaking role in VAKUUM, directed by Daniela Ollus for Söder Films. Her earlier screen roles include: the feature film DUAL, directed by Riley Stearns for XYZ Films; Aku Louhimies’ war drama THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER in the role of ‘Sirkka’; and the crime thriller BORDERTOWN which was directed by Jyri Kähönen and Juuso Syrjä. In addition to her onscreen work, she has performed frequently in theatre and as an accomplished singer, and she has extensive experience in musicals. Marketta can next be seen in the leading role of the upcoming feature film TELL EVERYONE, directed by Alli Haapasalo for Helsinki-filmi.
