VIILBJØRK MALLING AGGER

Viilbjørk is an actress from Denmark. She made her screen debut in Lisandro Alonso’s critically acclaimed feature JAUJA, starring opposite Viggo Mortensen. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the FIPRESCI Prize in the Un Certain Regard section. Since then, Viilbjørk has built a strong and diverse career across film and television. Most recently, she starred in Christina Rosendahl’s MATTERS OF THE HEART, a powerful drama about a daughter coping with her father’s alcoholism. Her performance, praised for its emotional depth and quiet intensity, earned her both the Bodil Award (Danish Critics Association) and the Robert Award (Danish Film Academy) for Best Actress, among several other honours. Whether on the big screen or in more intimate productions, Viilbjørk is drawn to stories that matter - to complex characters who embody contradictions, to themes with many layers, and to narratives that resonate with social relevance and emotional truth. She continues to forge her own path with a focus on meaningful, character-driven storytelling. Next, she will take on the lead role in a new Danish feature film set in the 16th century.
