MARGARITA LEVIEVA
Margarita was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she trained as a dancer and gymnast. She immigrated with her mother to Brooklyn at the age of 11. She received her bachelor's degree in economics at NYU and completed the Meisner Training Program at the William Esper Studio in New York. As well as being an actor, she is an artist, and a professionally trained dancer. Margarita played the role of ‘Abigail Parker’ in the critically acclaimed David Simon show THE DEUCE for HBO, opposite James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. Other notable performances include: INHERIT THE VIPER directed by Anthony Jergen; THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL directed by Marielle Heller; SLEEPING WITH OTHER PEOPLE directed by Leslye Headland; JAMES WHITE; FOR ELLEN directed by So Yong Kim; opposite Matthew McConaughey in THE LINCOLN LAWYER; the series REVENGE; and SPREAD directed by David MacKenzie. Margarita’s past theatre credits include IMPRESSIONISM at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre opposite Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen, and THE RETRIBUTIONISTS at Playwright Horizons with Adam Driver. She played the lead role of ‘Jenny Franklin’ in the Netflix spy thriller IN FROM THE COLD; and in the ITV biopic series LITVINENKO - her first UK production - she portrayed ‘Marina Litvinenko’ opposite David Tennant. Margarita can currently be seen in STAR WARS: THE ACOLYTE by Leslye Headland. Her upcoming projects include DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN for Disney+, and Brad Ingelsby’s new series for HBO.
