SASHA BORTICH
Sasha originally hails from Belarus, and moved to Moscow at the age of seven. Her acting career began when she was invited to audition for the youth drama NAME ME, and the director Nigina Sayfullaeva decided to cast her in the lead role. Since then, Sasha has appeared in over 30 films, and is consistently regarded as one of Russia’s more exciting young actors. For her performance in I AM LOSING WEIGHT, she gained & subsequently lost 20 kilograms in order to play the role of ‘Anya Kulikova’. Other notable screen performances include: as ‘Rogneda’ in VIKING opposite Danila Kozlovsky, which was directed by Andrey Kravchuk; Anna Melikyan’s acclaimed romantic drama ABOUT LOVE; the comedy MISTRESSES, directed by Elena Hazanova; THE SOUL CONDUCTOR in the role of ‘Katia’; BILLION; the music drama LIGHT UP! by Kirill Pletnyov; and as ‘Liza’ opposite Milos Bikovic in SON OF A RICH, which broke Russian Box office records upon its release. Sasha’s can most recently be seen in the feature film HOUSE ARREST (DELO) by Aleksey German Jr., which premiered in Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival.
