After training at GITIS, Darya Ekamasova’s film breakthrough came when she played ‘Chicholina’, a homeless teenager in SPARTAK AND KALSHNIKOV, which marked her out as a special talent. She starred in several films, such as FREE FLOATING, SPLIT and GAMES OF MOTHS, but it was her performance in THERE ONCE LIVED A SIMPLE WOMAN, that gained her notoriety and numerous awards. She won a Chopard Best Actress Award in 2016 and notably played the lead in ALINA by Ben Barenholtz. She is currently the regular character 'Sofia Kovalenko' in FX's THE AMERICANS.
