"Killing Eve" renewed for Season 2
BBC America must like what it’s seen of "Killing Eve": The network renewed the crime drama for a second season before the series had even premiered.
Kim Bodnia features as Konstantin alongside Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy) and Jodie Comer (The White Princess) in the BBC America’Killing Eve, written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag).
Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve is a tale of two women. Eve (Sandra Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade security services operative whose desk job doesn’t live up to her fantasy of being a spy, while Villanelle (Jodie Comer) is an elegant assassin who loves the luxuries her violent job affords her.
When a Russian politician is murdered, Eve is tasked with protecting the only witness and soon finds herself on a collision course with Villanelle, resulting in an epic game of cat and mouse between these two fiercely intelligent women who are equally obsessed with each other.
The cast also includes Fiona Shaw (True Blood) as an MI6 agent, Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Downward Dog) as Eve’s assistant Elena, David Haig (Penny Dreadful) as Eve’s colleague Bill, and Owen McDonnell (My Mother and Other Strangers) as Niko.
Killing Eve premiered on the 8th April on BBC America and is due to premiere in a primetime slot on BBC1 UK, before BBC3 makes the entire series available as a boxset on BBC iPlayer, later this year.
