Jasper Pääkkönen to star in Amazon's "The Dark Tower"
It’s been a busy month for Jasper Pääkkönen who - we are delighted to announce - will be starring in the Amazon pilot of the adaptation of “The Dark Tower”, which is based on the Stephen King book series of the same name.
The series was originally intended to tie in to the long-gestating 2017 film that starred Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, but the plan now is for the series to be a more faithful adaptation of the book series. King’s eight Dark Tower books draw from multiple genres, including dark fantasy, science fantasy, horror, and Western.
Sam Strike (Nightflyers, Mindhunter) has also been announced as a cast member. The project is produced by Media Rights Capital (MRC), and Glen Mazzara is attached as the executive producer and showrunner.
Jasper is currently filming on Spike Lee’s new film “Da 5 Bloods”.
