JASPER PÄÄKKÖNEN
Jasper is one of Finland’s best-loved and most talented actors. He first came to international attention for his performance in the comedy, LAPLAND ODYSSEY, directed by Dome Karukoski, but it was his role in HEART OF A LION which won him widespread acclaim and a Jussi Award in 2014. It also led to him being cast as ‘Halfdan the Black’ in the epic international series, VIKINGS. Prior to this, he filmed Charles Belleville’s JET TRASH opposite Robert Sheehan and Sofia Boutella. Jasper starred as 'Felix Kendrickson' in Spike Lee's critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning film BLACKKKLANSMAN, alongside Adam Driver and John David Washington, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival. Other notable performances include playing the leading role of ‘Marten Broadcloak’ in Amazon Studios’ pilot adaptation of Stephen King’s THE DARK TOWER; teaming up again with Spike Lee for the feature film war drama DA 5 BLOODS, where he played the role of ‘Seppo’; and as ‘Kaapo’ in the film A RARE GRAND ALIGNMENT, which was written and directed by Cinqué Lee. Jasper played the lead role of ‘Max Tanner’ in the thriller feature film ATTACK ON FINLAND, directed by Aku Louhimies. He can next be seen in the series BLOOD & SWEAT directed by Daniel Toivonen.
