THE RESURRECTION OF THE CHRIST First Look

A first look image from THE RESURRECTION OF THE CHRIST have now been unveiled, with filming officially wrapped on Mel Gibson’s long-awaited two-part epic following a 134-day shoot across Italy.

Jaakko Ohtonen stars as Jesus, alongside Mariela Garriga, Pier Luigi Pasino, Kasia Smutniak, Riccardo Scamarcio and Rupert Everett.

Part One will be released on May 6, 2027 (Ascension Day 2027) and Part Two on May 25, 2028 (Ascension Day 2028) by Lionsgate.

“This film represents a major part of my life’s work,” said Mel Gibson. “It’s a mission I’ve carried for over 20 years to tell what I believe is the most important story in human history.”
