Richard Sammel is an extraordinary talent. A German actor, living between Paris and Berlin, he speaks 4 languages fluently, and regularly performs leading roles in each of them. He has played key roles in such high profile films as: CASINO ROYALE; LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL; and his remarkable performance in Quentin Tarantino’s INGLORIOUS BASTERDS which brought him international recognition. Richard's notable television performances include: the Saturn Award nominated role of ‘Thomas Eichorst’ in the third season of Guillermo del Torro’s THE STRAIN; ‘Schwartz’ in INTERPOL; and ‘Hartweg' in DA VINCI’S DEMONS. Recently, Richard starred as ‘Malachia’ in the television adaptation of Umberto Eco’s THE NAME OF THE ROSE. His recent work includes: Kader Ayd’s thriller A DAY LIKE A WEEK; the drama PICCOLINA BELLA; Gregory Kirchhoff’s BAUMBACHER SYNDROME; GATE TO HEAVEN by Jivan Avetisyan; as ‘Erik Osterland’ in the thriller THE HEAD directed by Jorge Dorado; and as ‘Prince Philip’ in SPENCER opposite Kristen Stewart. Richard can next been seen in the forthcoming Robert Langdon series as ‘Karl Muller’, based on Dan Brown’s THE SECRET OF SECRETS.
