Mads Reuther and Saku Taittonen in BLOODAXE
We are very pleased to announce that Mads Reuther and Saku Taittonen are cast members of BLOODAXE, the upcoming historical drama series for Amazon MGM Studios, where they will play ‘Jarl Sigurd’ and ‘Knut’ respectively.
They join fellow Subtitle Talent Agency clients Karlis Arnolds Avots and Alina Tomnikov, who were previously announced as part of the cast.
Mads plays Jarl Sigurd, the Jarl of Hladir, a scheming Norwegian jarl and ally of Haakon (Levi Miller), the younger half-brother of Erik Bloodaxe (Xavier Molyneux). Saku is Knut, one of the brothers of Gunnhild (Jessica Madsen) — a warrior struggling with conflicting loyalties to his sister and their father, King Gorm of Denmark (Rune Temte).
Created, written, and executive produced by Vikings creator Michael Hirst and his son, Horatio Hirst, Bloodaxe follows Erik Bloodaxe (Molyneux), one of history’s most famous Norse raiders, and his formidable wife, Gunnhild (Madsen), as they fight for the throne of Norway. Season 1 has now wrapped and is in post-production ahead of its planned debut.
